Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) have been reinventing the way in which start-ups raise funds for their projects. With the several ICOs present, more and more firms are looking for ways to stand out. Recent trends suggest that celebrity endorsements are the key marketing scheme; attempting to reach a broader population.

Stryking Entertainment, a firm that boasts itself as the next generation fantasy sports platform, managed to get Luis Figo onboard as the brand ambassador. While one might quickly assume that someone endorsing a platform and its related cryptocurrency will at least hold some coins, however, the football star told CCN that he is yet to invest in the STRYKZ tokens – proprietary of Stryking Entertainment.

The star argued that he is “still traditional in that area”, but still continues to back up the project by suggesting its current “booming.” This might come of surprise to many crypto fanatics as one would think that an ambassador would be passionate and get him/herself involved fully. In some sense, one can praise him for such a bold move, while he is still “very new” to the crypto world.

Figo did mention that he might be looking into business ventures after his career as a professional football player. This could possibly mean that he will be digging much deeper into blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in times to come.

As for the STRYKZ tokens, Stryking Entertainment created them as a mean to encourage user participation, while bringing football fans as close to the reality of games as possible. The tokens can also be used to unlock unique features of the Stryking Entertainment platform, which would otherwise cost users.
