Software Giants Intel And SAP to Join Forces For Blockchain Technology Initiative
The famous Intel and the software multinational SAP has recently announced that both companies will make a partnership to address “gaps in the market” and create blockchain solutions for companies.
A Partnership For Integration and Development
According to the official report from Intel, the companies will expand their 25-year collaboration to also work together with blockchain technologies and to spearhead the creation of new global blockchain industry consortium. The post made by the companies outlines their blockchain initiatives so far and the plans to make their technology interoperable with the SAP HANA Data Management System.
This data management system was developed in a partnership with both companies and will integrate SAP’s new Cloud Platform Blockchain that enables the customers of the company to use a SLQ interface.
SAP has also launched a BaaS (Blockchain as a Service) platform on the SAP Cloud Platform Blockchain and it is planning to allow customers to integrate their data using a model in which they pay only for what they need.
Intel explained that its processor technology can be very important to speed up the foundation of new blockchain apps. It has also affirmed that Intel Software Guard Extensions (Intel SGX) will be used to improve the security of the source code and data on the blockchain and make it more efficient.
Other efforts of the duo include studies to analyze the metrics of the blockchain, which will be made to find new bottlenecks and make the system more efficient. Also, the companies will address specific hardware information to define standard parameters for individual blockchain uses.
About The Collaboration With Other Parties
The collaboration will also be made with other companies like UPS, Flex and HPE. They will help the companies to create a blockchain-based supply chain that can be used for the management of a proof of concept solution that will be used in the international trade market.
Intel is also making a partnership with Enigma, a decentralized app platform, that will be used to prepare the blockchain testnet of Enigma and will also help Intel to gather information and to develop better products.
