South Korean Company Kakao’s Ground X to Launch Klaytn Blockchain Platform in June
Kakao Corp’s blockchain arm Ground X announced that it will be launching its own blockchain platform, according to a Cointelegraph correspondent who attended at Consensus 2019.
The blockchain, called the Klaytn mainnet, is scheduled to launch on June 27, 2019. It will drive blockchain adoption throughout South Korea, which is where Kakao Corp. is based. Currently, Kakao has a presence in applications such as financial services, content services, gaming, and mobility services.
Last March, Kakao indicated that intended to launch a blockchain platform. In October, it released a testnet version of Klaytn. The application is focused on decentralized applications and international partners began adopting the technology to test the new ecosystem.
Further, Kakao had another initial coin offering to raise funds for Klaytn.
