Server Versus Client
One player will take on the role of a server, while the remaining will act as clients. Clients are responsible for giving servers the necessary inputs, while servers “send new world state” in return.
The Use of Name Service
The Name Service features reduces complications within a game compared to public keys. With the former, a readable name is given to the player, whereas the latter’s names using long public keys will make it harder to distinguish other players.
Other Facets that Induce Excitement
Space Cats can support up to eight players, which alone can get a large group together. Two new game modes have also been included, which are “Team Deathmatch” and “Capture the Flag”. Others comprise of scores, leaderboards, and customization of tanks.
As for the NKN improvements that make playing Space Cats enjoyable, they have been listed as the ongoing efforts to decrease traffic on the sender side given multiple receivers present, choices to inactivate packets given a receiver is not around and smart contracts that support the sending and receiving of packets. Moving forward, the team revealed that subscriptions of API will be made available to blocks and transactions.
