Spark Offline Wallet Uses C-Lightning For Bitcoin Payments And Exchanges
Bitcoins Now Transferrable Offline with C-Lightning
An easy to use interface makes the premise behind C-Lightning so valuable. The lightning network has been around for a little while, used to make transactions and is now growing at an accelerated rate.
Spark, a new GUI Wallet is now used on the lightning network has a unique feature that gives the user the ability to create and run a personal Bitcoin node. Currently, it is available on every system except iOS, but the people at Spark promise that will soon change as well. The simple user interface makes the lightning network as trustless as possible since it has offline capabilities.
The announcement was made on the 28th of August 2018 – by Nadav Ivgi on Twitter – with a link to the new Spark wallet available through the Medium network. Spark uses a simple to navigate graphical user interface that operates just fine on or offline. Transactions on the lightning network using spark are simple to perform, mainly by following the guideline in Spark’s technical guide.
The document shows precisely how to use the wallet off-chain which is done from home or on a cloud computing system of some type. With the new setup, only the server needs to be online, not the phone, which is different than most other wallets in use today.
Apparently, the new wallet will solve the problem occurring with Bitcoin’s scaling issues, supposedly making it possible for the wallet to handle billions of transactions a second. Spark operates on a decentralized network that uses micropayments or payment transactions offline.
The exchanges that happen off blockchain are accomplished through broadcast and once completed the channel the broadcast was made on closes automatically. With the help of the lightning network, the new wallet app should do just fine, especially considering that at the time of this writing, the system has more than 11,000 channels and 3,000 public nodes.
Other companies are also attempting to use the lightning network to create new apps and products that can be used to improve the blockchain industry.
