US Mobile Network Operator Sprint Partners With NXM To Work With Blockchain Technology
One of the US largest mobile network operators, Sprint, has decided to partner with the blockchain company NXM Labs so as to launch a new car platform based on 5G technology. At the same time, the new system will be powered completely by blockchain technology.
The information released by the companies on June the 20th, says the platform will provide on-demand, unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. In this way, drivers and passengers are able to connect their most used devices on their vehicles and choose to order cellular broadband by the day, without having to use their smartphone plan.
According to Ivo Rook, SVP of IoT for Sprint, blockchain technology will provide an important level of security and advanced capabilities.
About it, Mr. Rook, commented:
“Through the power of blockchain technology, NXM provides an advanced level of security and advanced capabilities to vehicles that might not otherwise have it, even extending Wi-Fi. With the power of Sprint’s high-speed LTE and upcoming 5G network behind the technology, consumers will be able to experience the latest in automotive technology, even in early-model vehicles.”
Some of the new features that this system will include are smart parental controls, anti-theft, roadside assistance and collision detection features. The main purpose is to keep families safe while driving their cars. Moreover, drivers will be able to find nearby parking places, and low cost gas.
The platform will be available starting this fall in the United States. NXM Lab’s CEO and co-founder, Scott Rankine, explained that they are very excited about the collaboration with Sprint to bring to the market an advanced and secure connected car platform.
“We are making it easy for both preowned and new car buyers to experience the latest in smart connected vehicle technology features that not only help protect their investment but keeps them and their family members safe,” he commented.
Sprint is now the most improved network in the United States with a national average download speed up 34.5 percent year after year. The company is planning to launch the first 5G mobile network in the United States in the first half of the next year, allowing for multiple devices to be connected without lag and complications.
