Stellar Build Challenge (SBC): Stellar Lumens (XLM) Development Experiment

Stellar is one of the most popular and stable coins in its class, and it has come a long way to get to where it is. Today, stellar is setting the pace for many other coins as it gets innovative with technology and rises up the ranks. It has been fixing bugs and coming up with new technology to improve user experience and other factors such as competitiveness.

Stellar is once again undertaking ambitious upgrades and changes to its platform with its seventh Stellar Build Challenge.

What Is Stellar Build Challenge (SBC)?

SBC is an experimental challenge that seeks to overcome problems plaguing the Stellar coin and introduce new changes and upgrades to the Stellar platform. The challenge’s main goals are enabling the provision of services that are affordable, fair, and community-driven. The challenge has run for six times so far, and the most current one will be the seventh and expectedly the best of them all.

Each Stellar Build Challenge comes with rewards for contestants who take the top positions. The sixth SBC promised great rewards and ended up offering five times as much owing to its tremendous success. The coordinators had planned to offer 550,000 XLM in rewards, but by the end of the challenge, contestants pocketed 2.7 million XLM.

The 7th Stellar Build Challenge

The latest SBC has been slated for August, and some information about what to expect has already been released. At the core of the challenge are several goals, and two of the most prominent goals are outlined below:

Open Source Contributions

Open source platforms are incredibly flexible and, consequently, much more powerful than other systems. Stellar is seeking to take advantage of an open-source platform by challenging developers to develop one. The open-source projects to be developed must be related to Stellar, and they should either contribute new features to its functionality or enhance it. The goals here are to improve the users’ experience, improve problem-solving capabilities, expand the project’s functionality, and improve overall documentation.

Development Of A Cornerstone Project

There are four cornerstone projects that are currently being undertaken by Stellar: a Trade Bot Maker; an improved Quorum Explorer; a Peer-to-Peer Wallet; and a social trading platform. Stellar is tying a lot of importance on these four projects as it deems then as important aspects of its future network. To expedite their development, the Stellar team has decided to challenge developers seeking to join the 7th SBC to try their hand in any of the projects. Viable works will be considered for further development and implementation, and rewards will be exceptionally good for this contest.

Considering the sensitivity and importance of this contest, interested developers will work directly with the Stellar Development Foundation and get all the assistance they may need.

Submissions And Schedule

Developers interested in undertaking the SBC 7th challenge are urged to submit their applications by August 15th. The elected judges will examine each submission and give their verdicts. The final verdict will come from Jed McCaleb, and all verdicts shall be announced on August 30th.
