Stellar Lumens (XLM) Could Surpass Ripple (XRP) In the Institutional Investor Interest Race
It is widely known that Stellar Lumens (XLM) and Ripple are two rivals in the cryptocurrency market. Although they aim at improving the cross-border payment industry, Ripple remains ahead in terms of partnerships, products and funds. Nonetheless, Stellar Lumens keeps growing and gathering strength for moving ahead in the market in the future.
Could Stellar Surpass Ripple?
According to a recent study conducted by Fundstrat revealed that corporate investors are considering Stellar a promising network for the future. Nonetheless, most of them do not comment on anything about Ripple.
This could be related to the fact that institutions are more interested in Stellar than in Ripple, even when the latter has already partnered with more than 200 companies from all over the world. Nonetheless, retail investors prefer Ripple rather than Stellar.
Both of these networks want to improve the payment settlement system and be able o properly compete against SWIFT and other older systems. Stellar Lumens has been developed for the average person to use it without difficulties, compared to XRP that has been created to offer services to large companies and institutions.
Both systems work in a similar way. Users and clients convert their fiat currencies in XLM or XRP and after it, the receiver will have local fiat currency in its exchange. As per the reserach conducted, investors prefer Stellar Lumens for long trades rather than XRP, which is preferred as a short-term solution.
One of the companies that is working with Stellar’s technology is IBM, which has announced the “Limited production” launch of the World Wire network. Ths global payment system will be connecting banks using the Stellar digital asset network. Meanwhile, Ripple has partnered with large financial institutions such as Santander or MoneyGram.
At the time of writing this article, Stellar Lumens is the 9th largest digital asset in the market. It has a market capitalization of $2.21 billion and each coin can be purchased for $0.114. Meanwhile, XRP is the third largest virtual currency in the market after Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC). Each XRP can be purchased for $0.325 and it has a market capitalization of $13.61 billion.
