Strike Launches Ecom Lightning Network Payment API Using ACINQ WooCommerce Plugin
Thanks to the launching of an API for Lightning micro-payments, merchants who use the Strike payment mechanism can now receive payments in BTC using a WooCommerce plugin. Notably, the affected transactions are exclusive to the Lightning Network, a scalability solution within the Bitcoin network that is meant for the processing instant payments.
The WooCommerce plugin, which is developed by ACINQ, is easily compatible with online stores based on the WordPress content management system. Through the inbuilt dashboard, merchants can easily keep track of the payments. In recent times, ACINQ has been on the frontline of transforming the perception of Bitcoin, so that it becomes a utility rather than an asset, similar to gold.
Nevertheless, Bitcoin has considerable advantages over gold. First, since it is a digital asset, it is easier to distribute and mine than gold, which is a physical metal. Moreover, t is software-based, meaning that it can be upgraded and scaled according to the situational demands of the society. However, for Bitcoin to offer actual rivalry to gold, it has to improve its speeds and lower gas fees.
