Superblocks is like WordPress for blockchain technology. Find out everything you need to know about Superblocks today in our review.
What Is Superblocks?
Superblocks, found online at Superblocks.com, is a development platform for blockchain technology. The company’s flagship product is called Superblocks Studio. A beta of Studio was released in May 2018.
You can access the beta online today through Superblocks.com. Superblocks also has a Telegram channel where developers can collaborate.
Why do we need a platform like Superblocks? Picture it like WordPress for the blockchain community. As the official website explains, “Superblocks provides the tools to help every team unleash their full potential.” The platform can be used by individuals, startups, and enterprise users.
How Superblocks Studio Works
Superblocks Studio lets users code, build, test, and deploy smart contracts using an integrated editor. The goal is to help developers build their decentralized apps with confidence.
Some of the unique features of Studio include an in-browser blockchain. You can access the Ethereum blockchain and a Solidity compiler within your browser for fast, worry-free development.
Another key feature with Studio is the ability to live edit your decentralized app with instant feedback on visuals and contracts.
Superblocks Studio also has MetaMask integration, which means you can build dApps fully integrated with the popular Ethereum wallet.
The ultimate goal of Superblocks Studio is to create WordPress for the blockchain community. WordPress changed the way we blogged by giving the world a convenient What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor. With WordPress, you can build a good-looking, functional website with no coding knowledge. Superblocks believes Studio will achieve similar goals.
Studio is powered by Monaco Editor.
Once you’re done developing your app within Studio, you can deploy it to the mainnet instantly. Just select the environment, click deploy, and you’re done.
Superblocks Tool To Code, Build, Test & Deploy dApps Features
Superblocks Studio offers all of the following features:
Superblocks Studio has a built-in Ethereum blockchain and Solidity compiler to make it easier for Ethereum developers to build dApps.
Bootstrap Your App:
Superblocks Studio offers decentralized app templates that allow developers to start coding quickly. Just build some parameters and your dApp is ready to use.
Build decentralized apps with MetaMask integration. Superblocks Studio is fully integrated with the popular Ethereum wallet.
Superblocks Studio uses Monaco Editor. One of the most popular tools of Monaco Editor is the code autocompletion feature.
Deploy To Mainnet:
Deploying to the Ethereum mainnet can be a stressful and time-consuming process. Superblocks Studio lets you deploy your smart contract to the Ethereum mainnet (or testnet environments) with a single click.
Edit your decentralized app and get instant feedback on the visual and contracts. Reduce context switching and work using a fully-integrated tool.
Export Your Complete dApp:
Take the rendered source directly from the GUI and publish it on the internet to launch a fully functional decentralized app in no time, with no terminal required.
Superblocks Studio eliminates the need to use external wallets to interact with the smart contracts you’re building. Superblocks Studio’s built-in wallets mean you don’t have to jump between different tools.
Run With A Custom Node:
Connect to a local or shared TestRPC/Geth node to integrate with other tools and share state with your team.
Other Superblocks Products And Services
Superblocks Studio is one of several core products offered by Superblocks. The other products and services include Machines, Space, and AbC.
Machines lets developers spawn virtual infrastructure in a cloud vendor agnostic way using standard systems and network configurations.
Space uses a modular, decentralized system for the sharing and reusing of components.
AbC stands for “API by contract”. Using the AbC protocol, you can superpower your decentralized app by accessing data storage, analytics, artificial intelligence, and more.
Superblocks has one final service called Liquid Infrastructure. This is a turnkey solution that can work on different popular cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Digital Ocean, and Vultr. With Liquid Infrastructure, Superblocks lets you “decentralized the cloud” and run the infrastructure of your choice while using Superblocks tools like Space and Machines.
Who’s Behind Superblocks?
Superblocks has one of the more unique origin stories in the blockchain community. The project was founded and is currently led by Thomas Backlund, a computer coder who developed the project while living in a forest in Sweden.
In 2013, Backlund made headlines for quitting his job “to live in a tent and write code.” He changed his camp about twice a week while carrying 35kg of total supplies with him.
Today, Superblocks consists of an international team of programmers and executives. Along with Thomas Backlund (CEO and Co-Founder), the company is led by Carl Gärdsell (COO and Co-Founder), Javier Tarazaga Gomez (CPO and Co-Founder), and Micael Palmgren (Art Director & Co-Founder).
The company’s so-called “WordPress for Blockchain” was announced on May 18, 2018. On that same day, Superblocks announced it had received $1 million USD in seed funding from investor Cryptowell. Cryptowell had previously dipped its toe into the cryptocurrency industry by investing in blockchain-based financial trust platform Hiveonline in 2017.
Superblocks Studio Conclusion
Superblocks aims to create WordPress for the blockchain community, allowing developers to access a user-friendly environment in which they can develop and deploy their Ethereum decentralized apps (dApps).
