Telangana To Implement Blockchain Applications For Government Services
Telangana which is an Indian state just announced that it would be signing several memoranda of understanding with multiple blockchain firms which will help in eventually implementing various technology firms in the state applications. This is all according to a local Indian news agency report on 26th July, Business standard.
The IT secretary in Telangana Jayesh Ranjan just revealed that the states are planning on entering in MoUS with several firms dealing with the blockchain technology in order to go ahead and implement the needed technology in the six or even seven government applications.
According to the official, the primary aim behind this is to ensure they have brought transparency and also efficiency to the different public services that are offered by the state.
But Ranjan was not able to specify the specific service areas that would get affected by this upcoming blockchain deployment. When he was speaking at a press conference in 26th July that was held by the very first edition of the International Blockchain Congress, he claimed that the state was actually ready to sign these agreements at the event.
More About The Conference
The conference will be held in Telangana between August 3-4 at the capital Hyderabad. But on the 5th of August which is the set finishing day of the event, it will be held at Goa. The event is expected to attract more than 3,000 participants and having over 80 speakers; this is including the officials who are in the regional government plus Tim Draper who is a U.S tech billionaire.
In 2017 February is when Draper reentered the Indian market, he had left back in 2016 due to the lack of the rule of law, as a result, this made him go ahead and sell his entire Indian portfolio. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi was able to impress the investor with the anti-corruption initiative, but he still criticized the countries negative stance on the crypto market.
The municipal plus the state government have gone ahead to increase the adoption of the blockchain technology to ensure their operations are more efficient and also more secure. The current government of Catalonia on 25th July revealed that it is planning to implement the blockchain technology in all the areas dealing with public administration, this is by the end of the year.
The Generalitat de Catalunya strongly wants to promote the blockchain technology properly, all this is with the aim of ensuring they have improved the current digital services being offered to the public and also going ahead to promote the potential this ever-changing technology is able to offer. This is between the company, administrations and the citizens at large.
In Saudi Arabia earlier this month the Riyadh Municipality also went ahead to team up with IBM, the tech giant, in order to develop an effective strategy that will be able to enhance the services offered by the government. Plus, implementing better transactions through the use of the blockchain technology.
The current partnership was designed in accordance to the current government of the country to ensure they are able to effectively improve on the current quality of the services offered by the municipal and also the integration of the leading technologies; all this is part of the countries vision program for the year 2030.
