Telecom NT Thai Unit Plans To Launch Innovation Lab In Q2 This Year
The telecommunication giant NNT corporation has announced plans to launch an innovation lab that will be focused on financial technologies. The lab will incubate blockchain, AI, and IoT startup technologies as originally reported by the Bangkok post on April 23.
According to the original announcement, the new lab will launch in the second quarter of this year. The addition of the new research lab comes ahead of its existing 15.6 million investments to secure additional data space at its Amata Industrial Estate.
The company’s president, Manabu Kahara, is quoted as saying that:
“The NTT innovation lab will introduce a playground for customers and partners to do a proof-of-concept, development for disruptive technologies such as blockchain, IoT, AI, hybrid cloud and software-defined networks.”
The institution will use the innovation lab to focus on blockchain solutions for both the insurance and the financial sectors.
Further details of the labs intentions were also revealed by the Bangkok post. It made a specific mention of Thailand’s expansion plans to meet the unmet demands of “cloud service providers, financial institutions, and cybersecurity providers.” The institution has plans to grow its overall business by 30% by 2021.
