Ben Mezrich’s Book About Winklevoss Twins Published
Author Ben Mezrich’s book Bitcoin Billionaires, has been published by United Kingdom-based publisher Little Brown. The book discusses the story of the Winklevoss brothers, who prevailed in a highly-publicized settlement of $65 million. Although the topic of the book is not the settlement itself, it does discuss the brother’s most recent success, which is achieving billionaire status with bitcoin.
Those who read the book will learn of the brother’s story – how the settlement provided them with the funds to establish a venture capital fund in Silicon Valley and how, while there, they were encouraged to forget about Facebook, which they had allegedly been a part of establishing. Rather, they were told to focus on a new venture – cryptocurrency.
The Winklevoss brothers followed the advice and invested early on when the price of the cryptocurrency was just $6. They invested $11 million at that point, which has grown to $100 billion. Anyone can see the success of the investment.
Most recently, the brothers are known for having their ETF rejected by the SEC – twice. At the hearing for the most recent denial, one SEC member, Hester Peirce, tweeted her dissent at the denial, sating:
Apparently, bitcoin is not ripe enough, respectable enough, or regulated enough to be worthy of our markets. I dissent: https://t.co/gH5zXaKtmj

Even though a publisher has picked up the book, its final chapter is apparently not completed. Reports show that the final chapter has yet to be completed and Mezrich is waiting to see what happens with the Winklevoss’s efforts to receive approval for their ETF. If Mezrich has actually completed the book, then the topic may be one for a sequel.
