The Times They are a Changin’ at Crypto Exchange ShapeShift Who Is Looking for A New CFO
ShapeShift, a prominent crypto exchange is currently making some changes in its core management team as the company is about to revamp its business. Now, the startup is looking for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), which will work to replace Justin Blincoe. The last CFO will go to a new position in the company, so ShapeShift has no choice but to start searching for a new one.
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of the company, Emily Coleman, was interviewed by Coindesk and she talked about the situation. According to her, the company is constantly evolving and preparing for the future. Because of this, the management has to always bring new expertise and talent to the company.
Coleman affirmed that the new CFO will be a person that will help the company in this initiative to grow and become something better. The late CFO, Blincoe, is spearheading the search for new talent. At the time, however, she declined to talk more about the future position that Blincoe will have.
Changes in Shapeshift
ShapeShift is having major changes at the moment. The company has just launched the beta version of its exchange, which will be more interoperable with other products released by it. The KeepKey wallet and CoinCap, the pricing tracker service, will be two important products that will work together with it.
Some other important changes in the company are that ShapeShift, unfortunately, had to cut staff because of the crypto crisis. During January, the CEO of the company, Eric Voorhees, has announced that he had to cut 37 employees for the company, which he described as a painful and deep reduction, one that many crypto companies had no other choice but to do.
Apart from the bear market, it is widely known that another heavy blow suffered by company happened when the Wall Street Journal affirmed last year that the company was instrumental for money laundering practices.
The CEO of the company, Voorhees, has denied his involvement and called the article deceptive and inaccurate, but the company was certainly stained from the episode.
