The Winklevoss twins, Cameron, and Tyler, known for being crypto supporters and investors, have purchased $1,400,000 in Bitcoin when it was worth just $7. Currently, these 200,000 BTC would be worth close to $1.6 billion. This is according to Ben Mezrich, the author of the Bitcoin Billionaires book.

The Winklevoss twins, also known for being part of the creation of Facebook have invested $1,400,000 in Bitcoin when it was just worth $7. Cameron and Tyler claim that Mark Zuckerberg stole their idea to create Facebook and carried it out on his own.
During an interview with CNBC, Mezrich explained that the Winklevoss twins purchased almost 1% of all the Bitcoins when it was still $7 per coin. This shows that both individuals were ahead of the innovation curve with Bitcoin and Facebook.
On the matter, Mr. Mexrich commented to CNBC:
“They bought about 1% all of Bitcoin. At $200,000 they were worth $4 billion and at $8,000 they are worth close to $2 billion.”
According to Mezrich, Bitcoin will be able to expand. He is confident in digital assets due to their viability and innovation. Moreover, due to the fact that Bitcoin is the most popular crypto in the space and that the Winklevoss twins purchased the virtual currency, he decided to write a second book about the twins.
He has also mentioned that the brothers truly believe in Bitcoin and that they are working in order to create viable solutions for trading the most popular digital asset. At the moment, the Winklevoss twins are the owners and founders of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange. At the time of writing this article, Gemini is the 86th largest crypto platform in the market with a trading volume of $22 million in the last 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.
