Through Justin Sun’s Troubles, the TRON Platform Could Easily Fly or Flop with BitTorrent Deal
- Justin Sun is being advised not to meet with Warren Buffett by the Chinese government.
- The acquisition of BitTorrent has already put the platform in a bad light.
The upcoming lunch planned between Tron Sun and Warren Buffett has been a highly anticipated event, primarily due to the combination of a cryptocurrency advocate with one of its strongest opponents. However, reports have recently arisen on CNBC Africa’s segment with Ran NeuNer, saying that the TRON CEO has been forbidden to participate, as there are tensions between China and the United States involving trade.
The source, which is presently unnamed, stated that the promotion that Sun was doing for the lunch was “provocative” in the eyes of the Chinese government, and there’s a possibility that the event won’t even happen. Last week, Chinese officials were trying to find Sun for alleged charges involving pornography and other crimes that are tied to the Peiwo app. These authorities even stormed the headquarters of TRON to handle a group of scam victims who were protesting the exchange, due to their own lost.
Now, the source is apparently speaking on the true reason for the cancellation, according to Ran NeuNer. In a recent tweet, the host explained that Sun was told to not even pursue the lunch at this point.
The plot thickens;
Sources in China say the Chinese government believed that @justinsuntron “promoting” the Warren Buffett lunch was a “provocative” act given current trade tensions. He has been told not to pursue the lunch. My source believes the lunch won’t happen at all.

Replies on the post suggest that, with this type of control, the Chinese government could easily have an impact on the other projects. One user even suggested that Sun was far from the decentralization of the internet. Still, the story being told now is still way better than the rumors that have been circulating around. One of those rumors was that Sun was dealing with kidney stones, while others suggested much more unsavory activities. Still, Sun worked to shut down these claims after partying in San Francisco and ultimately apologizing to the Chinese government.
At this point, the information from the source is basically supposed to imply that Sun has such a significant celebrity status in China that the government can’t handle a lunch with Buffett during these trade issues. Consumers can basically take the source for what it’s worth, but Sun still has a fairly good narrative at the end o the day.
After 24 hours since the tweet was posted, an unknown individual still paid for the promotion of Sun’s Twitter profile.
On Sunday, Sun spoke out on Twitter with a philosophical quote from Bruce Lee, seemingly as a symbolism of his own experience. Lee was also treated with suspicion, and his legacy is rarely even considered for potentially political reasons. Is there a reason that Sun chose this particular individual to quote?
Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. Put water into a cup. Becomes the cup. Put water into a teapot. Becomes the teapot. Be water my friend.

Still, over time, Tron hasn’t exactly been performing exactly in the way it's been planned. One of the most highly anticipated acquisitions of the exchange – BitTorrent – hasn’t quite performed in the desired way. There’s been some failures, like that of BitTorrent Play and BitTorrent Live, but there have still been a significant number of victories.
Between this publicity, and Sun’s struggle with the Chinese government, the only thing that the public can do is to wait and see if the platform is in the right, or if they will stumble further.
