Tippin.me to Roll-Out a Chrome Extension Allowing Bitcoin Transfers Directly on Twitter via Lightning Network
Tippin.com, a company utilizing Lighting Network to develop a simple web custodial wallet for BTC, announced that it’s working on releasing a Chrome extension that will allow users to send and receive bitcoin directly through their Twitter accounts.

According to Tippin.me, the chrome extension will be enabled on every tweet, coming in the form of a button that gives users the freedom to transfer bitcoin from their wallets.
Cryptocurrency Community Excited about the News
The cryptocurrency community showed their excitement on Twitter, stating that the innovation would be a brilliant idea as it would make it easy for people to send bitcoin without having to go back to their wallets.
The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, was among the first to engage users, saying that he loved the idea by Tippin when it was brought to his attention. He Twitted that:

Chrome Extension in Beta Stage
The Chrome extension by Tippin is currently in a beta stage, but some features such as the HTML tip button are already available.
Speaking to Sludgefeed, the developer of the Chrome extension, Sergio Abril, said that he expects to have the beta version released by the end of February so that the community can test it and provide their feedback. He commented:
“The sooner, the better; as soon as [it’s] relatively stable.”
Tippin.me utilizes Lightning Network, a technology developed on top of bitcoin, to offer instant micropayments at a low cost. The company makes it easy to use the technology, allowing users to have a simple web custodial wallet to transfer and manage their Bitcoins.
The project is still in its early days. According to the Tippin.me website, the project currently allows receiving and cashing out Lightning Payments, but they are looking to add many features to allow for easy integration with merchants as well as better wallet functionality.
