Titan Portfolio Software App Allows Hedge Funds Access For Retail Investors
A new created for retail investors has hit the market. A San Francisco-based startup called Titan has created an app in which investors are able to access top hedge fund portfolios. The platform was created to be specially easy to manipulate and it is as simple as using Robinhood.
Just Like Robinhood
Just like the other platform, you can use Titan to invest in fractional shares of stocks. This is important because it considerably lowers the barriers for investors who do not have such large amounts of money to invest on the platform if they want to join. Investors can begin investing $1000 USD.
The Titan software first determines the top 20 stocks across a list of notable hedge funds. After that, it rebalances the portfolio on a quarterly basis. Titan gets a 1% annual fee on what the users invest on the platforms.
Protection From Risk
One of the features of the app is that it collects information to assess the risks that the portfolio has and the risk tolerance of the users. It uses this information to determine how to invest better and get the best possible results for the users by shorting the market index. This short can vary from zero to 20% and it is created to generate downside protection and revenue if the market crashes.
To protect the users from theft, the app uses SSL and 256-bit encryption every time that data is transferred. The funds are insured up to $500,000 USD, too, and Apex, a middleman custodian, handles the assets of the users. Funds can be pulled back from the platform between three to four business days.
The Co-Founder Is Interested In Cryptos
During a recent interview, the co-founder of the company, Joe Percoco, has plans to launch other financial products, including products related to cryptocurrencies, bonds, equities, etc. However, Percoco did not share any solid information about real plans or a timeline to release any new product at the time.
Titan has divulged the information that the app already has thousands of clients and that it currently has a 10% return YTD, compared to only 2% from S&P 500’s.
