Tron Announces Odyssey 3.6 Upgrade, Records $15.9 Million in 24-Hour Volume
Tron DApps have beaten EOS and Ethereum DApps with a 24-hour volume of $15.9 Million AmbCrypto reports. The twelfth biggest crypto as per CoinMarketCap might not be doing well in terms of price but its DApps are contributing greatly in the crypto space.
Tron released the Odyssey 3.6 upgrade that focuses on bringing entertainment to the blockchain through DApps. The rise in volume could have been brought by the announcement of the new upgrade.
The announcement was made by Justin Sun, Tron’s CEO through a tweet. He released summarizing the DApps performance over the last 24 hours.
The good performance was not only for the 24-hour volume as Tron DApps also recorded the largest volume in the last week hitting $97.085 million. EOS closely followed Tron Dapps with $95.778 million while Ethereum was third with $51.665 million.
When it comes to performance, EOS was the market leader with slightly over 4 million by June 19 while Tron reported 73,997.
Enhancing Convenience
The release of Odyssey 3.6 is expected to bring numerous changes within the ecosystem. One of the key aspects of the new upgrade is that contract deployers will now be able to clear any existing ABI in the contract as well as enhance protocol data checks so as to minimize any frauds within the chain.
In addition, the update is also expected to implement an enhanced lightweight built-in event server that will offer convenience to the DApp developers and enable them to modify their own event service.
By the time of publication Tron was trading at $0.0332 and had a market cap of $2.217 billion. As per CoinMarketCap data, the coin’s 24-hour trading volume was recorded at $529.58 million since it had reduced by 0.55% within the day. In the last seven days, Tron coin (TRX) has plunged by 0.02% and at the time of publication, it had continued to fall by 0.52% within the hour. However, it is expected to recover as the day progresses.
Tron’s prominence has gained prominence in the last couple of days following the revelation of the new Odyssey upgrade and the hype surrounding its CEO winning a lunch date with Warren Buffet in efforts to convince the billionaire to invest in the crypto industry.
