TRON Leader Justin Sun Elects Himself as TRX Super Representant Candidate
Justin Sun, From Tron, Becomes Super Representant Candidate For His Own Company
The founder of Tron (TRX), Justin Sun, has just decided to run for Super Representative on the Tron network. He announced on Twitter that he was excited to run for SR with other incredible candidates and that voting was a crucial part of the community, so urged people to vote. He also send the campaign address for his candidacy.
I am excited to run for #TRON Super Representative alongside excellent candidates, in the hands of our community. Voting is a crucial part of the #TRON ecosystem and embodies our mission of decentralization and democracy. Every vote counts! #TRX $TRX https://t.co/0R7cefF3Ws pic.twitter.com/s84NWAmQWG

According to Justin Sun, his candidacy was made as an effort for all the TRX holders to know that voting is important and that everybody should contribute to the community and be a part of the democratic system that the Tron network has created. His point is that voting is a way to promote the popular sovereignty and the natural rights of the network, as well as its decentralization.
Sun Will Not Rig The Election
Obviously, Sun was already questioned whether he will use the 33.2 billion TRX tokens held by the Tron Foundation to vote on himself. He has promised not to do it, though. According to him, this is a completely personal action and should not be confused with the foundation giving him the support for the election.
At the moment, Tron has over 60 Super Representant candidates. While Sun stated that he “sincerely hoped” that members of the community voted on him, he also wished good luck to the other candidates and did not try to ask for votes.
What Will The Super Representants Do?
The purpose of the SR members of the Tron Foundation will be to have a major role in the governance structure of the company and represent the interests of the people. They will act as the guardians of the network and it will be their function to participate in an active way in the calculation and validation of the transactions that happen on the network.
The Reaction To Justin’s Announcement Was Mixed
Some people loved Justin Sun’s announcement, others, not so much. While some Twitter users thought it was a bold move and wished good luck, others were irritated that Justin did not just take his role as founder but also tried to take a function that was supposed to be taken by members of the community, not the founder.
You’re running for representative of your own company! Bold move, Cotton. God damn, best of luck!

No offence I am living the Tron project I am enjoying the partnerships but how does being a SR candidate ensure independence as a majority stakeholder? Everyone has money tied up in your dream but as soon as you open your mouth a landslide happens, marketing needs to be subtle

Are you so stupid of doing this? The founder will run and wants to be one of the SR?
SERIOUSLY Justin? Instead of focusing on what you can do for the TRX and let the public run the SR, you wanted to compete with us and divide your time having SR and being the Founder?— Ildefonso Ungui RN (@iLde_RN) July 18, 2018
Controversies aside, Justin Sun will continue on the run and only time will tell if he’ll win, even though it is obvious that he has a huge chance.
