TRON Shatters Records, Leaves Ethereum and Bitcoin in the Dust As Transactions Cross 800 Million
Even though Tron is rightly considered as a latecomer in the crypto niche, it is definitely carving its own niche. And it is doing it so confidently, particularly in the DApp sector.
On the 18th of November, the news went out that Tron had crossed the 800 million transaction mark. This was announced by the Tron Foundation advocate Misha Lederman, who understandably did the whole announcement with glee and excitement.
That was the first time Tron was going to have such a record ever since it was established. Lederman did not stop at the announcement of the record-making event. Lederman also took the time to stress that Tron was able to pull this off cleanly. In other words, there were no hacks, congestions, security issues or any untoward strategy in the achievement of the landmark number. Lederman also took a dig at Libra being floated by Facebook.
🔥 #TRON surpasses 800 million transactions since launch.
Not 1 hack. No security breach. No congestion. Not once.
Secure. Reliable. Robust. Accessible.

A comparison between Tron and Libra showed that the latter was only able to do 51k transactions in two months. That was from the month of September. Tron, on the other hand, has the ability to process the same number of transactions in a matter of minutes. Clearly, the much-touted Libra is not a match for Tron.
Others were quick to also make interesting observations with Tron. For instance, the records indicate that Tron has outshone even Bitcoin in the number of transactions. The value of transactions handled by Bitcoin was put at $475 million. Then there is also Ethereum which has its own transaction value at $584 million. However, both were left in the dust by Tron.
The data from Tron’s end shows that it passed the block height of 14.48 million and the complete sum of the nodes was at 973. Almost 60,000 new addresses were included over the past seven days. That alone brought the total sum to over 4.1 million.
But that was not all. Tron also pointed out that it handled 9.63 million new transactions over the past seven days. On top of all these, the Tron DApp count signified a count of 628. That represented a five-fold rise in the past seven days. For the number of active users, the number stood at 351,300 and for the transactions, it was at 6.04 million. The sum of the trading volume was at $30.81 million.
The story of Tron does not stop at these impressive numbers alone. Even with all this performance, Tron is not relenting. Its Super Representative program (SR) has been showing a lot of promise of late. Many of the players on it include Poloniex, Huobi, Binance, and Hitbtc. As it appears at the moment, there is virtually nothing that will stop Tron and it can only get better.
