Tron’s (TRX) TronGrid Version 2.0 Now Live With New Features Post Odyssey 3.5 Fork Update
Tron's (TRX) TronGrid Version 2.0 Now Live
February 28, 2019, was a remarkable day for the Tron (TRX) blockchain project, as it successfully carried out its hard fork along with the Odyssey update 3.5, plus the TronGrid 2.0 update, in a bid to make life easier for blockchain developers, according to reports on March 2, 2019.
Tron Reaches Another Excellent Milestone
Since its Mainnet went live in 2018, the Tron (TRX) distributed ledger technology project has been working round the clock to make the platform the best in the blockchain space.
Now, in a bid to make it easier for developers on the Tron network to create highly functional blockchain solutions in a frictionless manner, Tron has launched the TronGrid 2.0 update.
TronGrid Explained
For the uninitiated, TronGrid is one of the essential components of the Tron network, as it enables developers to build blockchain solutions upon Tron without having to worry about running a full node.
TronGrid provides devs with robust full nodes across the world, as well as application programming interfaces (APIs) into the Tron ecosystem, thereby helping devs to save time, money and efforts required to launch the overly complicated and expensive full nodes.
In addition to providing blockchain developers with the critical tools needed to create decentralized applications (dApps) on the Tron network, TronGrid is also free of charge.
Commenting on the development, Cong Li, Head of Tron Protocol stated that:
“TronGrid is an infrastructure used by a vast array of developers. The latest update aims to be more comprehensive, reliable, and available. It offers an intuitive user experience that helps developers to focus their energy where it matters most – developing business and decentralized applications.”
The Exciting Features Of TronGrid 2.0
Per reports, the TronGrid version 2.0 allows devs to query events within milliseconds, a significant reduction as compared to what it used to be.
That's not all; the dev team claims that TronGrid 2.0 has an impressive uptime of 99.99 percent, making it very consistent and always available to users across the world.
Explaining the idea behind the creation of TronGrid version 2.0, Francesca Sullo, Tech Lead of Dev Tools at Tron noted that:
“I was working on Ethereum when Infura was first launched. Right from the very beginning, I knew that Infura was a necessary tool and a game. Against that backdrop, when I was designing TronGrid v2, I kept that vision in mind, striving to create a much faster, more reliable service.”
For the uninitiated, Infura is touted as the secret weapon of the Ethereum smart contracts blockchain. Infura gives devs secure, reliable and scalable access to Ethereum APIs and IPFS gateways.
Yue Fang, Product manager at Tron also declared that:
“We have witnessed several development efforts on TronGrid in the past few months. From a performance perspective, but more importantly, a documentation perspective. TronGrid has quickly become one of our preferred TRON blockchain interaction methods.”
At press time, the price of Tron (TRX) sits at $0.022866, with a market cap of $1.52 billion and 24-hour trading volume of $194.54 million, as seen on CoinMarketCap.
