Verizon Looks To Hire Several Blockchain Tech Developers To Build Distributed Network
- The American telecom giant has listed more than 30 job openings on its website — with most of them being related to blockchain tech development.
- According to a lead engineer who works for Verizon, corporate entities such as Google and Facebook have already depleted the global blockchain talent pool in a big way.
A quick look at tech giant Verizon’s careers page shows us that the firm is currently looking to hire a number of new recruits who have experience in blockchain development and other similar niche’ areas. In regards to this development, a trusted media outlet reported yesterday that Verizon is currently looking to create a decentralized distributed network that will make the firm’s internal processes much more streamlined.
Additionally, as per an insider source who works for Verizon but wishes to remain unnamed at the moment, the blockchain talent available in the market today is really thin since big name players such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft have lapped up most of the cream that previously existed within this domain.
“[…] I have interviewed over 100 candidates in the last couple of years and it’s getting harder to find good calibre candidates in blockchain.”
As things stand, the telecom giant has listed more than 30 blockchain-related positions on its website — with emphasis being laid on applicants knowing the ins and outs of platforms such as ‘Hyperledger’.
While there are some listings that simply mention blockchain expertise as being an added bonus, there are also specific positions that are primarily for developers who will have to “research, design, develop and test blockchain technologies” for Verizon.
There are also other openings that are mainly for people who are competent in areas such as technology development, marketing and strategy creation.
