However, the company wasn’t promoting cryptocurrencies here rather its new character.
After much speculation, Apex Legends’ Season 3 has been announced as Season 2 comes to en end. The new season which is set to start on Oct. 1 will bring its newest character, Crypto to the audience.
It has long been rumored that Crypto would be the next addition to Apex Legends’ roster that has come out to be true.
“Cool, calm, collected Crypto deploys specialized surveillance drones to stay in the fight and out of the spotlight,”
reads the official description of Respawn.
In the light of popularity Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are seeing, this could be nothing but just an attempt to rise the crypto high as part of company's marketing plan.
While some crypto enthusiasts think it could be “doublespeak,” others are of the opinion that it’s
“fine viral marketing.”
Many still can’t help but feel positive that the “character’s name is strategic,” although it could very well be referencing to cryptography if that.
