Decentralized dating network Viola.AI recently introduced its REL-Registry, which verifies users through decentralized ID verification using visual recognition technology and social media accounts.
Viola.AI describes itself as “the world’s first blockchain-powered relationship registry and love AI” ecosystem. The goal is to restore trust and transparency in the love industry using decentralized technology.
With REL-Registry, Viola.AI plans to take their decentralized network to the next level. REL-Registry will be the blockchain-based foundation of the Viola.AI network. The verified identities of users will be hashed and stored on REL-Registry, where they can be accessed and utilized by other Viola functions – like the company’s AI-powered matchmaking system.
How Does Viola.AI REL-Registry Work?
REL-Registry will power core features of the Viola.AI network. Core features include things like the ability to access curated, only-single matches across the Viola.AI network. Users will also be able to search a date’s relationship status with advanced filtering, increase dating success with the AI Love Advisor’s recommendations, and arrange dates and buy gifts using VIOLET tokens.
The core function of REL-Registry is to verify a user’s identity using visual recognition and social media accounts. The user’s identity will then be added to the blockchain, where it’s immutable and accessible globally across the Viola.AI network.
Specifically, REL-Registry is a decentralized global relationship registry secured by the blockchain. The Viola.AI ecosystem will use this registry to enhance the effectiveness of the network, helping singles find love worldwide.
Each user’s identity will be used to enhance targeting in the Viola.AI ecosystem. Here’s how the company explained it in a recent Medium blog post:
“Evolving based on the user’s relationship status, Viola.AI will recommend highly targeted and relevant content, goods and service from experts/merchants to them according to their personalised needs, relationship timelines and other customisable factors.”
The Viola.AI ecosystem allows you to adjust your profile based on your relationship status. Based on your relationship status, you’ll be able to access different features within the Viola.AI ecosystem. All relationship status changes are recorded on the blockchain using REL-Registry. As your relationship status changes, you’ll be able to access the Viola.AI ecosystem in different ways.
Users who are single, for example, can use Viola.AI to access curated, only-single matches on the REL-Registry. Users who are in a relationship can change their status to “in a relationship”. Users can even get married on the blockchain by entering into a globally-immutable “Marriage Smart Contract” via Viola.AI.
Meanwhile, the Viola.AI ecosystem also revolves around the VIOLET token, an ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain. That token is the official transaction method across the Viola marketplace and network. It can be used to pay for premium Viola products and services. You can spend VIOLET tokens on advertising. You can also earn community rewards in exchange for adding value to the Viola community.
The Viola.AI network was co-founded by Violet Lim (CEO), Jamie Lee (Business Development Head), and Zam Ong (AI & Crypto Protocol Architect). Viola Tech Ptd is based in Singapore.
Ultimately, you can picture Viola.AI’s REL-Registry as the foundational, blockchain-based layer powering the entire ecosystem. The REL-Registry stores verified identity information for all Viola network participants. Viola’s AI matchmaking tools and other apps access this layer to provide personalized relationship recommendations.
A token sale for VIOLET tokens is scheduled to begin on May 28, 2018. Stay tuned for more information about Viola.AI and its REL-Registry as we get closer to the launch date.
