Vitalik Buterin Wishes Crypto Community A Happy New Years, Lists What The ETH Leader Is Grateful For In 2018
Here’s What Vitalik Buterin Was Most Grateful For In 2018
2018 has been an extremely eventful year for the crypto sector as a whole— with the space witnessing tremendous highs and lows all through course of the last 6-8 months.
However, despite all of the gloom that seems to have engulfed the digital currency market recently, ETH co-founder Vitalik Buterin took to Twitter earlier today to list out some of the things he was most thankful for during the year gone by.
First off, Buterin noted that this idea of “giving thanks” was quite similar to the yearly tradition that had been established by crypto enthusiast Cryptochamomile way back. As part of his annual routine, Cryptochamomile dishes out praise for a number of digital groups that don't normally really draw a lot of attention (both from inside and outside of the crypto domain).
So without any further ado, let's take a look at some of the things that Vitalik was most thankful for in 2018:
2. Bitcoin culture is definitely on the "survive" side of Slatestarcodex's thrive/survive dichotomy (https://t.co/uUHSLFxW7N) and this has genuine benefits…

4. They've also done an impressive job getting the lightning network to where it is today without relying on ICO funding.

5. National fiat currencies have for the last few decades done a reasonably good job of being stable, and deserve credit for this. Monetary policy is complicated!

7. The Trump administration… is now supporting a seemingly totally sensible and needed criminal justice reform bill: https://t.co/IoU1sKb6tQ

Last but not least, the crypto savant even went on to praise the Coindesk team for showing integrity by not “retaliating against his public boycott” of their blockchain event earlier this year (in May).
