What Does Google Trends Reveal about Ethereum (ETH) & Tron (TRX) Rivalry
Tron and Ethereum are always competing against each other, more so their respective co-founders Justin Sun and Vitalik Buterin. When it comes to network activity, Tron is making a lot of advances but what about the Google Trends?
While Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin who recently tore apart solutions like EOS, Corda among others while stating, “there is only one currently viable option for the trust layer, the global settlement layer for the planet… Ethereum,” currently the numbers don’t stack up in favor of second-largest cryptocurrency.
In comparison to Tron, according to Google Trends, in the last one year, Tron has slowly made its way upwards and left Ethereum behind. The same charts with a similar movements could be seen with ETH and TRX as the search terms.
When comparing Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Tron founder Justin Sun, in this last one year Sun has emerged at that top as well except for in early September.
However, not long back, the news of thousands of Justin Sun followers out of his millions to be fake broke out that puts a question mark on the authenticity.
According to the recent weekly report of Tron, the number of user accounts have surpassed 2.3 million while the number of Dapps running on Tron network now totals 246.
However, gambling is playing a huge part in this as 64 percent of the Dapps now facilitate gambling. Some of these gambling related games promise the returns of up to 100 times the initial token investment.
This led the Tron Dapp volume to surge to a new high as on March 15, transactions worth over $102 million has been registered in compared to about $16 million worth of volume on EOS dapps and just about $4 million by Ethereum Dapps.
If we take a look back, in June 2018 only Tron became independent from Ethereum and is now surpassing it in numbers.
However, Tron is still not a part of the top 10 cryptocurrencies as at the time of writing, Tron has been sitting at 11th position by coin market cap of over $2 billion. Currently, TRX is trading at $0.0267 with 24-hours loss of 1.29 percent, as per the data provided by Coinmarketcap. Ethereum meanwhile is at $162 with 24-hours loss of 0.67 percent.
