Will Netflix Produce a Non-Bitcoin Documentary About Altcoins as Recent Picture Surfaces?
There are several digital currencies in the market, and we are not talking about Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Ethereum (ETH). There are thousands of tokens that have been released during the last few years. We have seen documentaries about Bitcoin, but Netflix could be working on a documentary regarding the altcoin market.
Netflix has been working during the last few months in order to increase the number of original productions offered on its platform. The popular global streaming service has funded several stand-up comedy shows, documentaries and many other tv-shows.
Netflix has already released a Bitcoin documentary on its platform has received positive reviews from different commentators and viewers. In general, there have been several documentaries related to Bitcoin but that focus on the negative aspects of the most popular digital asset in the market.
At the moment there is not enough information regarding the documentary related to altcoins, but there are some images that have spread on the social network Reddit. There are some virtual currencies that appear on the background such as PACCoin or Global Boost, among others. Nevertheless, it is not possible to know why were these coins selected and how they will be depicted on the documentary.
It is clearly positive to see that Netflix is producing a documentary regarding alternative cryptocurrencies. It will be interesting to see the repercussion that it would generate if it is released. During 2017 and the beginning of 2018, there have been several tokens created through Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). Most of them have disappeared or just dropped substantially. Meanwhile, several others were complete scams. This is a challenge for Netflix that will have to find an equilibrium between fraudulent and prosperous projects.
Apparently, it might be possible for this documentary to be released in 2020. Clearly, it will take a long time before it reaches the market. There is also a possibility to see an eight-part documentary rather than just a 90 or 120-minute documentary.
As the production in which Netflix is currently working on could be released in 2020, it might not be good for it. The crypto market changes at all times and it is very volatile. Moreover, the legal framework could change at any moment and affect the whole ICO market. Make sure you also check out other documentaries we have covered in the past here, here and here.
