Will The Launch Of Cardano 1.5 Result In an ADA Coin Price Pump as Ouroboros Genesis Nears
Earlier this week, Cardano announced the release of testnet for Cardano 1.5. It is the most significant upgrade to their blockchain since it is the most recent release of the Byron development phase.
Led by a team of influential and innovative tech visionaries including Charles Hoskinson, Cardano is, slowly achieving its milestones in a timely manner as defined in the project’s long-term roadmap. The release of Cardano 1.5 on the testnet adds another feather to the project’s impressive list of accomplishments.
This recent launch will act as a catalyst to Shelley Development Phase. Although the project has had its fair share of minor bumps along the journey, due to both internal and external factors, it is safe to say that the recent chain of events paints an optimistic picture of its future.
The introduction of Cardano 1.5 comes with a new consensus protocol, Ouroboros BFT, and this plays a major role in transiting from Ouroboros Classic (Cardano existing to protocol) to Ouroboros Genesis, the protocol for the Shelley era.
The Blog Post For The Announcement Adds:
“Ouroboros BFT will not be immediately activated after deployment of the 1.5 release. It will be activated through a protocol update later, which will be announced separately. This protocol update will deactivate the Ouroboros Classic protocol and activate the Ouroboros BFT consensus protocol. This update is technically a hard fork but will take place in a smooth and automatic way because this is a planned protocol upgrade whereby all parties of the current federated system have agreed to the change.”
Additionally, the upgrade will bring improvements such as:
‘rendering lists with a large number of transactions and wallet addresses, the addition of features for detecting insufficient disk space, and a new screen that visualizes the block storage consolidation process.’
Cardano was founded to, in the project’s own words, ”provide a more balanced and sustainable ecosystem” for cryptocurrencies. Moreover, the project argues that ADA is the only cryptocurrency coin which uses a ”scientific philosophy and research-driven approach.”
Cardano employs a meticulous peer-review system, reaching out to both programmers and scientists from the academic world to help improve its open-source blockchain.
Currently, only the testnet is launched for Cardano 15. The Mainnet is set to be released around the end of this month ar the beginning of April.
