WISeKey Releases Blockchain Identity Solution for IoT Industry “Root of Trust (RoT)”
WISeKey, a blockchain and cryptocurrency startup based in Switzerland has launched a digital identity solution to protect Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The news originally came from a press release dated March 29.
The solution introduces a tool named Root of Trust (RoT) for securing and authenticating people and smart objects.
The market for such a technology is claimed to be wide and varied according to WISeKey. The company stated that its customer base extends to over 1.5 billion secure microchips across various sectors in the economy.
The newest technology from the firm is named SensorsID, and is issued under WISeKey RoT. The tech combines digital identity and blockchain technology to protect devices and data transactions.
SensorsID is part of a suite of digital identity services as it joins CertifyID and WISeID as part of the company’s existing offerings.
The press release also explained how the company’s digital identity solutions accommodate secure storage, cryptography, and digital signatures. All of these features were made to protect the users data from being stolen or leaked to unwanted third parties.
