GCOX claims to be the only global celebrity-focused digital currency exchange. It offers the first platform for celebrities that are interested in tokenizing their popularity. The exchange would help them develop their own cryptocurrencies and list it on their platform.
GCOX’s CEO Jeffrey Lin, explained about Manny Pacquiao and his cryptocurrency:
“We are proud to have Manny Pacquiao as the first international celebrity on our exchange. Manny and other celebrities will also have the opportunity for increased engagement with their fans, further extending their reach and expanding their popularity.”
At the same time, GCOX works with different celebrities to increase their chances of adoption and acceptance of their virtual currencies and blockchain platforms.
Pacquiao is one of the first celebrities that is promoting its Celebrity Token using the PAC Token. Pacquiao was able to defeat opponents such as Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Manuel Marquez and other important names. Indeed, he was also the first boxer in history to win titles in each division available: flyweight, featherweight, lightweight and welterweight.
Celebrity Tokens can be used to purchase different merchandise, tickets and other services endorsed by celebrities around the world and that have decided to use the GCOX platform. Other benefits are meet-and-greets and other interactions with important figures.
There are other known companies that have decided to launch their own fan tokens. For example, the football clubs Paris Saint Germain from France, and Juventus from Italy have their own tokens for their fans. This allows users to pay for different things related to football matches and their favorite teams.
