Compared to the other cryptocurrencies in the market, XRP can be said to be one of the few tokens that have had a noteworthy march in terms of adoption. This is because apart from being integrated into Skrill, Vertpig—a cryptocurrency exchange also announced that plans were underway to have the token listed on its exchange.
This news has come at a time when the cryptocurrency universe is trying very hard to regain momentum after recently experiencing a bear market. This is a market that affected all the cryptocurrencies currently in use across the globe. Many of this ended up shedding their prices as a result of the chaos being experienced in the markets.
Before the bear market, XRP had managed to ride a bullish wave in the month of October. These recent market occurrences mean that its price has had to go down. Industry experts estimate that the token is currently retailing under the accepted 0.4-dollar mark.
Executives from XRP’s parent firm—Ripple have consistently maintained that they are looking towards a future where XRP will be widely accepted by the masses. Many of its officials have been attending different conferences across the country giving presentations and speeches which are meant to share the vision that they have for the token.
While announcing support for the XRP token, Skrill announced that the token would now become the fifth cryptocurrency to join its platform after Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Bitcoin. The news had been widely anticipated by fans of the cryptocurrency who have been pushing for its support for the last few weeks.
The news, which was announced via twitter were accompanied by numerous screenshots from people in the crypto universe who had been sending requests to Skrill to consider adding support for XRP. By adding it to its platform, it means that crypto enthusiasts can now buy and sell their preferred tokens using traditional currency.
Its addition to Skrill has also marked another important milestone for XRP as it recently overtook ETH to take up the second position in the crypto ranking. This means that XRP is now the second biggest token across the globe. This should not come as a surprise to those who have been following it keenly as the platform has been busy forging new partnerships with various companies that will see it enhance remittance support as well as make it easier for its fan base to make cross-border payments.
